Children of the Sun.

If the conversation comes about abyssinian, the Sun is intuitively recollected. Gods of the Sun from legends and myths of ancient Egypt; a sunlight in which these cats like heate; heat of the sun which was incorporated with their fur coat: we have the impression, that the sun has put the solar signature on their appearance, and on their character.

The Abyssinian cat concerns to the most ancient breeds of the cat`s family, but its exact origin is not established. If we are thinking about the name, its roots leave to Ethiopia, which was named Abyssinia, but traces of this remarkable cat in the African country was not possible to find.

Nevertheless, owing to its similarity to a sacred cat of Ancient Egypt the majority of researchers still consider, that its native land - the coast of Nile. The first Abyssinian cat reminding by the wool of the rabbit, the marshal sir Robert Nejpier in 1868 brought this cats to England from Ethiopia, and in 1887 Abyssinian breed of cats was officially recognized and known all over the world.

But selection work have many difficulties: two world wars and epidemic of the leukaemia which have fallen the Europe in 70th years, have put breed on a side of extinction. Fortunately, owing to factory owners-enthusiasts breed was restored, and now the Abyssinian cat is included into number of the most widespread and favourite short-haired breeds.

Appearance

The cat is average size. A kind is really royal, she is like a small predator. It is the graceful and harmoniously combined cat. It has a wedge shaped form of the head, big, wide ears in the basis, eyes are big, shining and expressive. Except this common characteristic of this breed, Abyssinian cats have an unusal coloration of a wool.

It is characterized double or even by threefold splitting of a strand wool from wood into black, reddish and sand colors. This original coloration has got to Abyssinian cat from the Yellow African cat who live in northeast of Africa, in Israel, Arabia and Syria.

Сharacter and care.

The cat is very active and playful, the typical extrovert. She does not like loneliness and suffers from an inattention of the owner. Abyssinian cats love to play, and the space for games is necessary for them. Small kittens are very similar to clowns in circus. Enthusiastic jump on a curtain, full customs inspection of your bag, and disoder on your table!

And after it innocent expression of their muzzles so submits you, that you accept the dreadful disorder as a norm. Adult animals force people to look at them with respect. They are cheerful and playful, but, at the same time, are silent and not importunate. They have soft voices. One of their main features is their grace. This cats are intellectuals.

They win on all parameters! Their intelligence sometimes simply frightens. But their improbable sensitivity and the reflected sympathy amazes much more. They are true friends, and also good partners of the life. Abyssinian cats and Somaly love freedom. They dont like to be kept in hutches. And, in addition to everything, they cannot exist without daily human dialogue. They start to long, grieve and simply die.

However when they are being allowed to live as a members of the family, - demonstration of their love does not know borders. Then they gently purr (and their purring more sense because of fluctuations of air, than a sound). Then they kiss you, iron you a forward paw, and embrace for a neck, and touchingly look to you in eyes. Then these children of the Sun tell you: " Love me and be happy! "

It does not make special work to care by Abyssinian cats. There is enough only once a week to comb their brush or a comb. At approach of a moult it is necessary to comb out more carefully dropping out hair. That the wool shone, it should be wiped a slice of suede. Also it is necessary to cut on a regular basis claws, to watch cleanliness of eyes and ears.
